On music...
Okay, once again this is my opinion and I'd love to hear yours so feel free to comment. I love music. Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Rap, Country, even Polka! If it has a beat, chances are I'll love it. There are a few select songs I dislike but I don't think it's fair to judge according to genre. Not all rock sucks just because you don't like "scream-o". Not all rap sucks just because some songs are "violent" or "offensive". Not all country is "twangy". Is that a word? Anyways, I just don't like people always forming stereotypes for EVERYTHING. Well, that's all.

I agree with avoidance of generalizations. However, I'm a big one on the "responsibility" of art in trying to convey the condition of the human experience. I guess that's where I feel the value of any artistic endeavor is: in giving us insight into our shared experience, in freeing us from what is intrinsically an isolated and lonely condition...
ReplyDeleteI share the same opinions on music, Bre. Just cause one song or even a hundred songs of a certain genre suck doesn't mean that they all do. So thanks for stating things that a lot of people are total retards about! =D
